Fifth, come end of summer, prepare meticulously for full-time interviews. By now, you'll appreciate the differences among your A-list firms and what you need to focus on - case, fit, or both. Talk to the interns from those firms and understand what makes each firm unique and what they liked/disliked about their experience. Most importantly, ask whether they would return full-time. As you prepare for interviews, pay particular attention to the feedback you received during the internship process.
Finally, when it is time to interview, believe in yourself. Recognize that there are two things in your favor this time around: (1) you have a full-time offer and (2) full-time recruiting is easier than internship recruiting. Although this is true for everyone else too, give yourself credit for having done everything that you possibly could to maximize your chances. When you're in the boiler room, be yourself and focus more on enjoying the interview than pressuring yourself to crack the case. Most importantly, remember that these firms need you as much as you want them. If you do, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results.
With that, I'll end my rant. What I've mentioned above certainly is not a recipe for success. For what it's worth, it worked for me and resulted in a different kind of call from the same McDaddy for full-time. So good luck folks.
