1. How much dirt was removed in order to construct the Hyde Park Center?
a. 4.2 million cubic feet of dirt weighing 243,000 tons were dug out of the building site. That's enough to fill 5 Winter Gardens or a 40-story building. The dirt filled 15,000 trucks - or one truck every 2 minutes. It took 300 trucks a day to haul the dirt away!

2. How many light bulbs are in the Hyde Park Center?
a. 10,480 bulbs

3. What's the significance of the number 1,512,000?
a. There were 1,512,000 gallons of water removed from the construction site per week during inclement weather.

4. Winter Garden Fun Facts
a. 6 stories high and incorporates both Gothic & Modern architecture
b. As large as the Chicago Orchestra Hall
c. The largest piece used to construct the Winter Garden is 36 feet (each column)
d. The smallest piece used to construct the Winter Garden is 2 centimeters (a washer plate)

5. There are 217 miles of wire for power and lighting that snake through the building-enough to go from the GSB to Wisconsin Dells!
The Hyde Park Center is 415,000 square feet and features:
12 classrooms (yes, we do go to class)
906 classroom seats (that are very comfortable!)
31 group study rooms (and more are being added!)
3,500-square-foot student lounge (come play pool or just hang out)
167 faculty offices (for the best professors!)
3 outdoor terraces (for those beautiful Chicago days!)
42 interview rooms (do you want a job?)
150-seat dining facility (coffee & ice cream, what more could you need?)
4 management laboratories (great hands-on learning experience)
150 indoor parking spaces (but not for students !)
