Congratulations are in order. On January 26th - 28th, Juan Bell, Janelle Jenkins, Gulnara Sagatova, and Josh Walker, traveled to Rice University in Houston, TX to compete in its seventh annual Marketing competition. After a weekend filled with sponsor dinners, peer networking, case analysis, and team presentations, the GSB team won 3rd place and brought home a cash prize of $2,000!

The team received accolades for their analysis of the marketing channels and creative presentation skills. The GSB team used strong frameworks, including tools learned in Professor Mitchell's Marketing Channels class, and added southern anecdotes and charm, provided by Juan Bell, a Houston native. As mentioned at the Rice Competition, "Never underestimate the heart of a champion." Several teams from top institutions competed, including our neighbors to the north. Other participants included Columbia, Haas, and Fuqua. The Harvard and Stanford teams placed first and second respectively. The Marketing Group financially sponsored its members, as it does for many marketing competitions around the country. Congratulations Juan, Janelle, Gulnara, and Josh for positively representing the Chicago GSB!
