It is wonderful to see the halls full again with students. As the year gets underway, I would like to update you on what has been happening in MBA Admissions. First, it is our pleasure to welcome the Class of 2008 to campus. This class is extraordinary in every way (just like the Class of 2007). In the Chicago GSB tradition, a few notable statistics: Average GMAT: 703; Average GPA: 3.5; 31% women; 30% international and 10% underrepresented U.S. minorities. It was also a banner year in terms of application numbers with applications up 36% over the prior year.

The full-time MBA Admissions is already working hard to recruit the Class of 2009. We have developed our new brochure - "Challenge Everything" - a view of the GSB through the perspectives of eight of your classmates. Please check it out and let us know what you think.

Admissions office at the GSB would not be successful without the active participation of our students and alumni. Here are a few ways to get involved this fall:

- Fall Preview, October 13 & 14 - help welcome more than 300 students to the GSB

- DSAC volunteer to help admissions with our daily campus visit program, including opportunities to visit class, tour campus, participate in an information session and engage with students.

- Volunteer to host an admissions reception over winter break

- Write-to-Rose Campaign - here's your chance to recommend someone you know who will be applying to Chicago GSB this year. Remember, this is your letter of support - make it meaningful.

- Refer-a-Student - recommend a student who has not already applied to Chicago

Help us shape the future of Chicago GSB by getting involved with Admissions. I look forward to working with you this year!
