What did you do for Spring Break? Continue that elusive search for a job in whatever city you want to live? Take a trip to Costa Rica? Maybe the Dominican Republic? I doubt if anyone can top the experience had by the 11 GSB folks that headed to Las Vegas. Let me remind you that usually "What happens in Las Vegas, Stays in Las Vegas". But this information was too juicy to follow the rules.

Some background ..... the organizer of this particular spring break trek is a particularly anal guy ... very much an advance planner. He called ahead to make sure that this vacation would include a meeting with a very important person. On the third day of the trip, the 11 GSB'ers were spotted at 4 am heading off to this meeting. The location was a little off-beat but this group of dedicated students could not be deterred. They arrived at the Tropicana Resort and Casino at the appointed hour, and had a one-on-one Distinguished Speaker Series style discussion with Elvis. Here are some of the key takeaways from the meeting:

GSB'ers: Can you tell us what the secret to your success is? How did you prepare yourself to enter the music industry?

Elvis: "I don't know anything about music. In my line you don't have to."

GSB'ers: What about when you stand up in front of the crowd to present. How do you feel?

Elvis: "The first time that I appeared on stage, it scared me to death. I really didn't know what all the yelling was about. I didn't realize that my body was moving. It's a natural thing to me. So to the manager backstage I said 'What'd I do? What'd I do?' And he said "Whatever it is, go back and do it again'."

GSB'ers: What are your thoughts about the business?

Elvis: "Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine."

GSB'ers: What about business people, specifically CPAs?

Elvis: "I have no use for bodyguards, but I have a very special use for two highly trained certified public accountants."

GSB'ers: What do you think about the accounting scandals of recent years?

Elvis: "Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain't goin' away."

GSB'ers: Any final words of wisdom and advice for us?

Elvis: ""When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was the hero of the comic book. I saw movies, and I was the hero in the movie. So every dream I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times...I learned very early in life that: 'Without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend - without a song.' So I keep singing a song. Goodnight. Thank you."
