The Dean's Student Admissions Committee (DSAC) has been hard at work this fall trying to recruit an amazing Class of 2005. While Fall Preview was the organization's most visible event thus far, DSAC has been responsible for many other efforts to reach out to prospective students. Working with eight cochairs and over 450 student volunteers, the group has a wide array of responsibilities, ranging from hosting prospective students visiting campus, to reading applications, to interviewing applicants.

Under the direction of Jeff Maung, the campus visit program is going strong, hosting between 40 and 50 prospective students each week! Student volunteers in this program have various opportunities to get involved... offering volunteers the opportunity to talk about GSB experiences (Info Sessions), show off their knowledge of the campus (Tours), and even get free lunches. Jeff notes that the majority of his volunteers at this point are first-year students; he encourages second-years who want to share their experiences (and prove that members of the Class of 2003 are just as involved as their 2004 counterparts!) to get involved next quarter.

Other opportunities to get involved include reading applications from the incoming class. Aaron Abraham has recently trained 175 students on the finer points of reading applications: what to look for, and (perhaps more importantly) what not to look for! As the first round of applications was due on November 8, these volunteers are eager to start reading, and help shape next fall's incoming class.

Also helping shape that class are second-year student interviewers (first-years, take note: if you prove yourself worthy in the reading process, you, too can be part of the interviewing process next year!). Under the guidance of Jeff Stone, between regular campus visits, Fall Preview, and Super Saturdays (full days when alumni and students volunteer their weekend time to serve as interviewers), over 630 applicants have been interviewed by DSAC members for admission to the GSB.
